Finishing Construction and First Brew
With all the insulation and dry wall complete, and arrival of the brewing equipment, we finally got to test out the system with a small pilot batch. The barn is functional - the fermentation room holds 70° on a windy single digit night, the brew system works great, and we finally, after over a year at this, have a brew under our belt! Still a lot of finishing touches (and brewing) before opening, but we can see the light!
New Entry Way and Interior Walls
We now have most of the interior walls framed and a new complete ADA accessible entry way ramp. This is a great feature to eliminate accessibility issues and make our lives easier moving heavy kegs and equipment in/out of the barn! The kids seem to enjoy it too.
The Big Dig...
One of the biggest challenges of making this brewery take shape was getting the life blood, water, plumbed into the barn... This took place with the great help of Eric Demers and Tracy Carlson (and Oden of course), and not without a few 'minor' occurrences, we made the connection happen. Let the water flow!!
Red Barn Transformation...
Below is a photo documentary of the transformation of the Red Barn from a rough storage area to what will be the brewery and tasting room. This is a big and messy project, but have already made great strides. The pics are in chronological order so you can see the progress unfold. More will be added as we proceed!
